The Safe & Together Advocacy Institute is a six-month long, intensive training program designed specifically for domestic violence advocates.
Face-to-face training, coaching and mentoring using the Safe & Together™ Model all serve to improve outcomes for survivors and their children involved with the child welfare system.
Participating advocates learn how a perpetrator pattern-based approach can help them work more collaboratively with child welfare, enhance advocacy skills with child welfare-involved clients, and develop leadership skills.
Interested participants must complete an application and be selected for the program. All participants who complete the Institute requirements will be certified to identify as Safe & Together Model advocate and train others in specific one hour modules using the Safe & Together Model for two years.
The Advocacy Institute is appropriate for domestic violence advocates that are co-located with child welfare; domestic advocates working with child-welfare involved clients; supervisors of co-located advocates and/or advocates working with child welfare involved clients; domestic violence agency leadership; and state domestic violence coalition staff.
