Call for 2025 Asia Pacific Conference Presentations

We are seeking proposals for workshops and presentations that highlight work in the following categories:

  • Site Implementation Presentations: Locally based communities or organizations who would like to discuss their efforts to implement the Safe & Together Model, including their successes, challenges, and/or strategies for implementation.

  • Domestic Abuse–Informed Practice Presentations: Content about practice that impacts child safety and well-being in the context of domestic violence, frameworks, or practice models that are parallel or complementary to the Safe & Together value system and/or practices or programs that grew out of implementation of the Safe & Together Model.

  • Safe & Together Model Presentation: Certified Trainers may present a workshop on a particular topic or skill from the Safe & Together Model.

- Presentations will be given via Zoom for this virtual event
- Technical support will be provided

About the Audience

The audience for our events includes child welfare caseworkers, team leaders, supervisors, managers/administrators; child welfare attorneys; domestic violence advocates, counselors, administrators; policymakers; researchers; family court professionals; home visitors; mental health and substance abuse professionals; fatherhood program staff; and men’s behavior change intervention providers.

 

Submission Criteria

      • Presenters must have had some Safe & Together Model training in the past and have implemented the Safe & Together Model principles, critical components and/or practice into their personal/agency/community practice and/or policy.

      • Collaborative presentations are welcome (please limit the number of presenters to 3).

      • Presenters will be asked to submit a brief biography and explanation of their experience using the Safe & Together Model, including any training received, as well as a press photo or headshot. 

      • Site Presentation submissions will be expected to include the following key areas:

        • A description of training received in the Safe & Together Model

        • A description of how the Safe & Together Model has been applied to policy, practice and/or community collaboration

        • The lessons learned, including formal evaluation data (if available)

      • DV-informed Practice Presentation submissions will be expected to include the following areas:

        • Which of the Safe & Together Model principles and/or components are being addressed by this topic.

        • A description of how this topic can support the child welfare system and domestic violence practitioners in their work.

        • Lessons learned and/or formal evaluation data (if available).

 

Selection Review Criteria

Proposals will be reviewed based on the following points:

      • Clarity of understanding of the Safe & Together Model

      • Unique, creative and/or well-established implementation of the Safe & Together Model

      • Sustainability strategies

      • Fidelity implementation strategies

      • Use of Safe & Together to improve cross-system collaboration

      • Inclusion of qualitative and/or quantitative data on implementation

 

Presenter Agreement

By submitting a proposal, proposed presenters understand and agree to the following:

  • If selected to present, presenters must confirm their attendance and willingness to present one week after notice of acceptance.

    1. All presenters must register for the event online prior to the registration deadline. 

    2. Presenters are responsible for submitting any handouts or materials for participants 3 weeks prior to the event.

    3. Presenters agree to allow the Safe & Together Institute to put presenter biographies on the conference registration website.

    4. Presenters agree to allow the Safe & Together Institute to provide feedback or request changes to any presentation proposal submission, including, but not limited to: change in time frame of presentation, addition of or removal of materials that do not fit within the principles of the Safe and Together model, or change in schedule.

    5. If selected, registration fees will be waived for up to 2 of your workshop presenters.
