Embedding Domestic Abuse–Informed Practice Through the Safe & Together Model in Equally Safe Falkirk

The Improvement Service has been supporting Barnardo’s Equally Safe Falkirk service, in partnership with Aberlour and Falkirk Council, to consider the impact that domestic abuse–informed systems and practice, through the rollout of the Safe & Together Model, is having for families experiencing domestic abuse across Falkirk.

The study explores how embedding the Safe & Together Model—a child-centered, strengths-based, and perpetrator-focused framework—has influenced family outcomes and professional practice in Falkirk. The initiative supports survivors, children, and perpetrators of domestic abuse through a whole-family approach, combining trauma support, family group decision-making (FGDM), and professional training.
